With a particular emphasis on furthering the unique pedagogical goals of our instructors, the Instructional Resources Center (IRC) provides specialized media support to the faculty, staff and students of the Department of Communication. Our goal is the development of communication tools that heighten the impact of your projects, research and instructional materials through responsive consultation and the following services:

· Web design
· graphic design and photography
· videography, video editing and conversion
· workshops and individual training
· in-class media support

The university also provides instructors with a number of other resources to complement their classes.

A History of the International Examiner
Spring 2006

Client: Jerry Baldasty, Professor, and his History of Mass Communication Students

Description:

This multifaceted presentation on the early history of Seattle’s International Examiner entailed:

· the collaborative establishment of project goals and deadlines
· in-class photography of Q&A sessions with the founders of the paper
· large-format poster design and printing
· archival video editing
· content assembly into a uniform Power Point template
· audio-visual support for the final presentation of research (attended by members of the community and the IE founders and staff)
